We visit family, conduct business, plan vacations or enriching cultural experiences close and abroad, and although some of us may stay within the confines of our national borders, many of us will travel to exotic locales in countries with varying degrees of standards of living.
It’s the difference in these standards of living, which include sanitation and quality of water, that make it important if not vital to seek qualified advice before embarking on that journey. Vail Ranch Pharmacy’s Travel Clinic opens it’s doors to assist all travelers create fond memories while avoiding any unplanned adventures into international hospitals. Be prepared.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT A PRE-TRAVEL CONSULTATION?
- One-on-One consultation with an Internationally certified travel health expert.
- Education regarding anticipated risks and possible methods for prevention and some tips on self-management.
- Vaccinations (If they apply).
- Medications (If they apply).
- Issuance of an International Certificate of Immunization - Containing a record of your vaccinations and immunizations (To keep with your passport).
HOW MUCH DOES THE PRE-TRAVEL CONSULTATION COST?
Vail Ranch Pharmacy’s Pre-travel Consultation Costs: $75.00*
It Includes:
- Professional Consultation.
- Administration of Vaccines by a Certified team member (If they are necessary).
*Non-refundable fee, whether or not vaccines are administered.
Does not Include:
- The vaccines themselves.
- Any medications that might be necessary to take on your trip.
Please note: Vaccines may be covered, partially covered or not covered by your insurance, copay or cash payment may be necessary.
HOW DO I GET STARTED WITH A PRE-TRAVEL CONSULTATION?
It’s very easy to get started.

- A Travel Clinic team member will call you shortly after to schedule your appointment.
DO I NEED A CONSULTATION? MY DOCTOR ALREADY GAVE ME A PRESCRIPTION
You do not need a consultation if your Doctor already determined what vaccinations and/or medications you need for your trip. Just bring in the prescription!
WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE A CONSULTATION?
The optimum time to schedule a Pre-Travel Consultations is 4 weeks prior to departure, the minimum recommended is 2 weeks. For certain short notice emergency situations, please speak to the pharmacist in charge of the Travel Clinic, Renee Galarza at (951) 303-8300.
