Essential fatty acids, particularly Omega-3, are not only critical for the development of vision in infants, but plays a key role in the health of the retina. Further studies have shown that Omega-3’s play a key role in the drainage of eye fluids, regulating intraocular pressure (which can lead to glaucoma if not regulated properly by the body). Recent studies have shown that people who ingest the highest levels of Omega-3 have a much lower risk of developing ARMD (Age-Related Macular Degeneration).

Omega-3 Sources: Seeds, especially Flaxseed and sunflower seeds, walnuts, spinach, winter squash, oily fish, olive oil.
